Both performing and teaching are vital aspects of my musical life. As a violinist, I am equally at home improvising with contemporary dance as I am in the violin section of a symphony orchestra. Likewise, I believe strongly in an approach to music teaching that balances the development of music literacy, performance technique and creative expression.

My primary performing outlet is with Impulse, an ensemble of five composer-performers that specializes in real-time collaborative composition. I am also available as a dance musician/composer and to play classical violin at weddings and other events.

My teaching experience includes over ten years of theory and composition instruction at the college level and over fifteen years of violin instruction for all ages and levels. I am also certified in The Walden School Teacher Training Institute musicianship course, a unique approach to the integration of creative expression into an effective and thorough musicianship training regimen.
